I.Solve the following problems.

1.Father planted  15 mango trees, 23 jackfruit trees and 20 guava trees.  How many fruit-bearing
   trees in all did father plant?





2.In Grade I-A, there are 23 boys and 25 girls.  How many pupils are there in Grade I-A?




3. La Salette Elementary School had 1,257 pupils last year. This year it has 561 more pupils than it  had  last year. How many pupils are there this year?




4.Rod used 15 pails of water to water the plants in the morning and 10 pails in the afternoon.  How many pails of water did he use in one day?




5. Walter sold 46 newspapers on Monday, 38 on Tuesday and 49 on Wednesday.  How many newspapers did he sell in all?




6.In school, there are 425 boys and 462 girls.  How many pupils are there in that school?




7.On Monday, 125 pupils from grade one and 130 pupils from grade two were present.  How many pupils from grades one and two were present on that day?




8.In a certain school, there are 1 224 elementary students and 764 high school students.  How many students are there in all?


9. St. Jude Catholic School had a science exhibition.  On the first day of exhibition, 123 guests arrived.  On the second day, 264 guests arrived.  How many guests joined the exhibit on these three days?




10.There are 102 more grade five pupils than grade six pupils.  If there are 323 grade six pupils, how many pupils from grades five and six are there?




11. Last Sunday 325 adults and 418 children went to the park.  How many people were at the park last Sunday?




12. On Saturday, 428 children played at the park.  On Sunday, 689 children played at the park.  How many children played at the park on these two days?




13. On a certain day, the owner of a store sold 172 cans of orange juice, 300 cans of pineapple juice and 198 cans of apple juice.  How many cans of juice did he sell?




14. A man selling balloons at the park sold32 balloons on Friday, 58 balloons on Saturday and 214 balloons on Sunday.  How many balloons did he sell on these three days?





15. Nenita sold 68 hot dog sandwiches, 74 ham sandwiches, 149 hamburgers and 59 bacon sandwiches.  How many sandwiches did he sell in all?





16. I counted the flowers at the park.  There were 256 santan, 378 roses, 618 gumamelas and 423 sampaguitas.  How many flowers were there in all?





17. There are 459 girls and 572 boys at St. Vincent School.  How many students are there in all?





18. Jonathan has 25 gumdrops, 37 jelly beans and 146 lollipops.  How many candies does Jonathan have?




19. A library has 2 bookcases each with 185 books, 4 bookcases each with 234 books.  How many books are in these 6 bookcases?





20. On Saturdays, 285 children play at the park and 175 play on Sundays.  How many children play at the park on weekends?





21. On Sundays, about 185 adults go to the park to watch the concert.  How many people, including the children, are there in the park on Sundays?





22. There are usually 3 men selling balloons.  If on one Sunday one man sold 108 pieces, another, 85 pieces and the third one, 60 pieces, how many balloons in all were sold?




23. Four little boys were selling different kinds of homemade toys.  One boy sold 53 pieces, another sold 47 pieces, the third sold 58 pieces and the fourth sold 64 pieces.  How many pieces of toys in all were the 4 boys able to sell?
